Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October 21st, 2016 she debuted Pho, her first EP for the Dreamville Records label. This was when she began to gain the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music to the Internet in 2012, when she released her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound, as well as her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. In the year 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on 21st July. The following year, her music was circulating around the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some references for Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was confirmed that she had been contracted to Dreamville Records. The release album Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat with Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance on behalf of J. Cole on his single Change in 2017. She also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, Ari Lennox guested on two tracks featuring EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music clip was followed by a video in September. In November, she dropped two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 2013 she dropped No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track that she recorded together with Cole for Creed II's soundtrack on November 16th. The track was released as a single on its own in February 2019, to coincide with her debut album. On February 20, 2019, a music video was made available for the track. It already has more than three million hits on YouTube within its first week. In support of the track She toured in concert with 6LACK in December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
