Kim Delaney was an American actress from America. The actress is best known for her role as Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC show NYPD Blue. For this she received the Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is known as the character Detective Diane Russell on the ABC series NYPD Blue. The actress also starred on the drama series All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive in the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. When she was a little girl, Delaney wanted to be a court-reporter. However, in high school the time came when she began modeling commercials, she moved to New York. In 1981, she starred as an innocent teenager in the film All My Children. Delaney has appeared in a variety of television shows, films and dramatics since then. Contrary to her impressive professional career, Delaney's private life isn't as content and successful. The accomplished actor has had to battle alcoholism, and she has experienced two divorces. In 2005, she lost custody of her sole son.
